Neighborhood Drama!

oh my goodness. there has been some drama in our neighborhood. Some Russian people live around the corner and apparently hate cats. My neighbor sprayed some stuff in their yard that is suppose to keep cats out but that didn't work. So the Russian people set a cat trap in their yard and have been trapping cats and taking them to the animal shelter (that is not no-kill)! I think it has been like 20 cats now. So today the lady across the street came knocking on our door today while I wasn't here. My 12 year old brother answered it and went outside. My mom hadn't had a shower and didn't have a hat on so it took her a few mins to get there. She looked out the window and the lady looked really upset waving her hands and stuff. She was telling my brother about the Russian people's cat trap and she was very upset about it. This lady is a very interesting lady anyway.... Well then my brother is upset about it and him and my mom start looking for our cat who is no where to be found. All day we couldn't find him. My brother was very upset and he was going out every 15 mins to check their trap. My mom called my dad at work and told him about it. So when he got home he went and talked to the Russian lady. Her husband wasn't at home. The lady said they had probably already taken our cat the animal shelter. This is our cat who has been in our family for 15 years and the animal shelter puts animals to sleep really fast if they don't have room for them! So my mom goes to the animal shelter and thankfully he is still alive! She went through a long process of papers, etc and his shots were not up-to-date. So she had to pay $50 for him to get a rabies shot. Well they also did not take credit cards. So she had to go back through the Friday traffic to buy a collar and get cash back so she could pay for his shot. Finally we have the cat back and everything is fine. My dad decided to call the Russian family just to let them know things were fine because he got a little upset at the lady earlier and she was nice and apologetic so he felt bad. Well when he called her husband was home and answered. My dad just simply says that our cat is find and everything worked out.. Well apparently the guy started accusing my dad because my dad quickly got angry. He was pacing the room, picking up stuff and putting it back down and saying things like "you keep interrupting me sir! no you keep interrupting me!; are you going to have a conversation or do you just want to talk?; what I was trying to say is that it is not a very nice neighbor of you to trap cats; this is our family cat; he has been in her for 15 years; YOU are accusing ME?! how do you expect everyone in this neighborhood to just bow to your requests? Progressively getting angrier. He cooled down but from my dad's end of the conversation the guy continued to be angry. They continued for 30 mins until my dad finally just told him they have said all they have to say and they just needed to leave it at that. He hung up and looked at me and said "well that went well" haha.... so much for friendly neighbors. The guy said that if he caught our cat again he would not let him out. I hope that doesn't happen.
